Temecula Valley Balloon And Wine Festival is a California event held each year in early June. The Festival, at Lake Skinner Recreation Area features hot-air balloon shows and rides, wine-tasting, live entertainment, kids’ activities and more. Wine tasting's will be hosted by over 20 wineries from Temecula Valley and other parts of Southern California. Tasting's, are offered for an additional cost and happen daily in the Wine Garden. Beer and wine are also available for purchase from food vendors. The Wine Garden is open from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Tasting's cost $15 for seven tastes plus a souvenir glass. Wine and beer by the glass are also available. For children there is a Kids Faire, a separate area devoted to kids 14 and under which includes rides, inflatable's, a rock climbing wall, a petting zoo, face painting and activities. This year's event takes place June 5-7, 2009.

Gates open at 5 p.m. Friday, and 6 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Balloons launch Saturday and Sunday at 6:30 a.m. and land by 8:30 a.m. If the view's not enough for you, one-hour balloon flights are available to the public at $175 per person. Flights must be booked in advance call (800) 965-2122 to make reservations. Tickets will be available for purchase at the gate, but it's a good idea to book your accommodations as soon as possible. This is a popular event campsites sell out fast and local hotels can be full. Admission: Friday - Adults $18.00, Juniors 7-12 $5.00, Children 6 and under free.
