Old Town San Diego State Historic Park
Old Town San Diego is the birthplace of California when the first permanent Spanish settlement located here in 1769. The the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation established the historic district in 1968 to preserve rich heritage of the area. today visitors can stroll around the historic buildings including La Casa de Estudillo, La Casa de Bandini, La Casa de Altamirno Pedrorena and the Mason Street School. The surrounding area has numerous shops and restaurants catering to the tourists and locals. If your visiting downtown just hop on the the The San Diego Trolley and it's a quick five minute ride to old town. Quite a few things to see at Old Town you can spend a few hours walking around then have a Mexican style lunch or dinner to finish up your trip. San Diego is a great city to visit so when in town be sure to put this historic place on your list of places to visit.
