Randsburg
California is located in
the high desert in western Mojave Desert, near Red Rock
Canyon State Park. Not quite a ghost town, but well on it's
way to becoming one. Off roaders and tourists provide
some traffic during the weekend but during the week
the week the place is a "Ghost Town." At it's
peak Randsburg had a population of 3,500. Today a few
people still live in Randsburg and a number of old
buildings remain, including a museum which is open weekends
only.
There are many historic buildings, including the original White House Saloon,
which dates early 1900s.
Some
buildings are inhabited including
the Randsburg General Store, still serving food and soft
drinks at its soda fountain.
