March
Field Air Museum, and the P-38 National Museum are located
across the runway from March Air Reserve Base in Riverside, California.
The Air Museum is home to over 60 historic aircraft. Inside the main
building you will find thousands of artifacts on display covering
the years from 1918 to the present. The distinctive checkerboard
roof can be readily seen from the Interstate 215 freeway. Outside
you will find rows of military aircraft from
the 1920s to present day war machines. Some of the highlights include
the SR-71 Blackbird and a B52 bomber. Allow about two to three hours
to see all the exhibits and stroll around all the aircraft.
