April
Fallbrook - Avocado Festival. April 23. Contests for best guacamole, best salsa, Best citrus dish, and the most creative avocado dish.The Avo Olympics will include avocado pit spitting.
Stockton Asparagus Festival. April 21-23 The Stockton Asparagus Festival--voted one of the best food festivals in the West. Food and entertainment festival celebrating asparagus.
Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Pop Diva Madona is scheduled to perfrom at the years festival in Indio, Calif., about 130 miles east of Los Angeles. April 29-30
May
Oxnard - California Strawberry Festival. May 20-21. The 23rd annual California Strawberry Festival will be held at Strawberry Meadows of College Park. Proceeds from the event will benefit more than forty nonprofit organizations.
Biship - Mule Days Celebration. May 23 - 28. Every year during the Memorial Day Weekend, over 700 Mules compete in 181 events at the Bishop Mule Days Celebration. Part Mule Show and part Wild West Show.
June
Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival. June 2-4. A "Festival within a Festival," with top-name concerts, wine tasting in the Wine Gardens, Kids Faire, Arts & Crafts and Commercial exhibits and the Food Court.
Pismo beach - Pismo Beach Classic. June 16-18. The Pismo Beach Classic is one of the largest classic car and street rod shows on the West Coast. Over 800 classic cars and street rods and over 65,000 - 80,000 spectators.
5th Annual Lavender Days Festival - Cooking with lavender demos and tasting. avender Crafting – make your own little lavender basket or lavender wand. June 24-25, 2006 10:00 - 5:00
July
Gilroy Garlic Festival - Gilroy July 28-30. Whether you are a first-time visitor or a "seasoned" veteran, the Gilroy Garlic Festival is always a fun and fragrant experience. Over 3 million honored guests have made the pilgrimage.
California Peach Festival - Marysville. Peach pies, peach drinks, peach cakes, and many more peachy offerings. More than 60,000 people are expected to attend. Music, games, and prizes are included. Friday, July 20, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., and Saturday, July 21st from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m
August
The Big Bear City Renaissance Faire. August 12,13,19,20. Jousting on Horseback, Archery Tournament, Live Steel Battle, Living History Encampments & Demonstrations, Ethnic Food & Drink, Belly Dancers, Jugglers, Musicians & Singers, Midsummer Fairy Forest Children's Area.
September
Carmel - TomatoFest. Sept. 10. the largest tomato-tasting event in the nation features 350 varieties of tomatoes, tomato dishes created by 50 chefs from the region. Tasting's presented by 25 wineries and olive growers.
Kelseyville - Pear Festival. Sept 30. Includes a parade along Main Street, music and cooking demonstrations in addition to arts and crafts, fine-art shows, children activities, and horse-drawn-wagon rides.
October
Half Moon Bay - Pumpkin Festival Oct. 14-15 The event includes pumpkin patches, harvest-inspired crafts, home-style foods, expert pumpkin carvers, entertainment, the Great Pumpkin Parade, and a haunted house.
November
Mountain Mandarin Festival. November 18 and 19. Hand-crafted items are also for sale just in time for holiday giving and home trimming with more than 150 booths. Cooking demonstrations throughout the festival.
