The California Central Valley is a large, flat valley stretching 400 miles long in the central portion of the Golden State. The Valley is known for its hot weather in the summer and the thick tule fog in the winter. There are no major tourist attractions in the valley just miles of farms, vineyards, orchards. Fresno and Bakersfield are the two major population centers in the valley and are jumping off points for the foothills and mountains beyond.
