Bodego Bay is a quiet little fishing village and
about a two hour drive north of San Francisco. If you are looking
for peaceful place to spend the day or weekend then Bodega Bay
is the perfect destination. This rugged section of the northern
California Coast can be cold and windy even during the summer
so dress accordingly.
In town there are a few shops that cater to toursits plus a number
of resturants. Most visitors venture down to one of the small
beaches that dot the ruggerd coastline. Be advised to stay out
of the water, its cold and the waves get big. If you decide to
have a look around the tide pools keep an eye for large rouge
waves that can come out of nowhere.
Each year Sonoma Coast Visitors Center hosts‘Chowder Day’
where viaitors can taste and vote for their favorite clam chowders.
Chowder Day takes place Mid-February and this also happens to
be the beginning of whale watching season.
